1. Project disclosure on internal events: in the context of seminars

LiTE project was presented to HE students during a seminar on educational sciences that was organised on May 30th and 31st 2013 at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Algarve (Portugal). Professionals from regional and national institutions related to learning and training also participated.

2. LiTE project presented in the context of classes

LiTE project was introduced in the past year in different classes’ contexts. Most of the students applied for educational sciences and the Project presentation was followed by discussion on good practices and challenges that face non-traditional HE learners when they enter universities.

3. LiTE project disseminated at the Faculty/University webpage

A link to the project website was created on the University of Algarve webpage. The idea was to allow target groups other than academics and students to access the information.


University of Lodz

1. International seminar on transition to HE at the University of Łódź

LiTE project was introduced to international students and academicians during a seminar on transition to higher education that was organised on May 29th 2013 at the Faculty of Educational Studies of the University of Łódź (Poland). Project presentation was followed by discussion on good practices and challenges that face non-traditional HE learners when they enter universities.

2. LiTE project presented during a conference in Toruń

Marcin Gońda (University of Łódź) presented the current results of the project LiTE – Lost in Transition Europe during the conference “Lifelong learning and challenges of labour market” that was organized by the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland) on June 6th 2013. Conference participants were attracted by research findings and recommendations on policies and practices that facilitate transition of non-traditional learners to Higher Education (HE). They also appreciated the idea of an online platform that will support development of future students’ skills and, thus, their entrance on the higher education level.

3. Project presentation during the European Conference on Education

LiTE project was presented on international forum. Professor Joanna Madalińska-Michalak (University of Łódź) had a paper presentation on the LiTE project findings and outcomes during the European Conference on Education in Brighton (UK) in mid July 2013 (www.ece.iafor.org). It is one of the largest conferences in education-related issues in Europe.

University of National and World Economy

1. Focus Group Meeting

In implementation of project Lost in Transition Europe – LiTE, a Focus Group Meeting entitled ‘Support for underrepresented groups in higher education’ was organised by UNWE on 18 April, 2013 at Vitosha Park Hotel, Sofia (Bulgaria). The event was attended by representatives of Bulgarian Ministry of Education, Youth and Science, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Regional and Municipal administrations, employer organisations and trade unions, higher educational institutions and NGOs, etc. The results achieved so far under the project were presented by the Project Coordinator for Bulgaria Dr. Todor Todorov followed by a discussion on the problems associated with the support of underrepresented groups in higher education in Bulgaria – existing good practices, challenges and perspectives.
